Problems with Lumber-Seal? Lumber-Seal is a non-toxic wood sealer that has devastated my new home project. I would like to hear your experience if you have encountered any of the problems that I have.
My issues with Lumber-Seal (lumber-seal.com) are as follows:
1) It was advertised not to mold. Lumber-Seal not only only molds but seems to promote mold growth.
2) It's advertised that it can be painted over. Lumebr-Seal blisters my paint when used as a primer.
3) It is advertised to be non-tacky when cured. Mine has remained tacky for 1.5 years.
4) It is advertised to be UV resistant. Mine has peeled and discolored within 6 months.
5) It is advertised to allow "dry out" of wood. One year later, my sealed wood has a higher moisture content than unsealed pieces!
I have contacted the company and they are not willing to help me with the problem or visit my home site to try to cure the problem. So, legal action is forthcoming.
Please share your experience here so we can support one another in trying to find remedy.
Thank you,
